Gimp-Print 更名為 Gutenprint

Gutenprint 之前名為 Gimp-Print ，是用於 Unix 列印系統，包括 CUPS,lpr LPRng,等等。這些驅動程式為 UINIX 提供了高質量的列印輸出（包括 Macintosh OS X 10.2 10.3 10.4）以及 LInux 系統。它包括了 GIMP 列印插件(plug-in)和 Ghostscript、CUPS 驅動程式。

這次更名是為了清晰和 GIMP 軟體套件區分開來。雖然最初這個軟件包是以 GIMP 的列印插件形式出現的，但是經過不斷髮展，其目的已經演變成為通用的印表機驅動程式，針對 GIMP 的列印插件只是其中一小部分（仍然非常重要）。

新名字的「guten」是德語中「好」的意思。

There is now a Gimp-Print web page for OS X that answers most questions on how to use Gimp-Print with OS X 10.2 "Jaguar" and 10.3 "Panther" and provides direct download links. The final release of Gimp-Print 4.2.7 for Mac OS X Jaguar is available now!

Gutenprint 5.0.0-rc2 is released!

New as of January 21, 2006! Gutenprint 5.0.0-rc2 is released. This is a release candidate for Gutenprint 5.0. This offers many bug fixes and improvements. You can read the release notes and download it here.
