Carbon Emacs 比較經典的是可以直接執行 Apple Script 命令，比如
(do-applescript "tell application "iTunes" to activate")
就會從 Emacs 中打開 iTunes 。
這就意味著，你可以只打開 Emacs ，然後在其中呼叫任何 MacOS X 的應用程序。
由於 AppleScript 使用 'r' 作為行結束，因此，可以這樣寫多行的 AppleScript：
